Task 1: Musicians of the Renaissance - List 5 people who contributed to the evolution of music during this era. What were they famous for? Are there any musicians during the last century who have revolutionised music in a similar way?
Task 2: Renaissance Wordsearch - Construct a word search which has ‘The Renaissance’ as its subject.
Task 3: Renaissance Poem Analysis - Present a reading of a popular poem of the Renaissance era and analyse its themes and ideas (150 words). Find a modern day equivalent of this poem (poem or song) if you can.
Task 4: The Aztecs - Research the impact of colonisation on the Aztec or Incan societies. You should include an analysis of their religion, their social structure, their customs before and after colonisation. Make comparisons to Australia’s ‘colonial’ history.
Task 5: Leonardo Da Vinci's Life - Create a timeline (in your own words) that features all of the most important achievements of a particular Renaissance famous figure.
Task 6: Da Vinci's Paintings - Imagine you were a famous Renaissance painter. Analyse 3 of your most famous paintings and talk about the various elements of each painting (colour, light/dark, your subject) and why you think it is a good painting.
Task 7: My Greatest Influence - Write about the person who has been the greatest influence in your life (as we know, the Renaissance was all about inspiration and change). Explore that relationship and the ways that they have helped shape you and your life.
Task 8: Romeo and Juliet - Memorise a section of text from one of Shakespeare’s plays and present it as a dramatic monologue using costumes and appropriate speaking skills.
